The weatherproof main compartment can be used in either a "roll-top" mode or in a traditional "flap-down" configuration. The breast strap keeps the bag pretty flush against your back. If you want a belt strap, you can purchase that separately on Mission Workshop's website. The side compartments are great for quickly storing the gear you use most. In summation, the Rambler is voluminous.
