After World War II, returning GIs began decorating their flight jackets with embroidery and patches representing the places they had traveled or been stationed. Over time, this tradition evolved into the creation of satin, varsity-style souvenir jackets adorned with intricate designs, celebrating memories and experiences from around the world.
Wythe reimagines this tradition with this reversible jacket, featuring chainstitch embroidery on both sides and proudly showcasing a map of the American Southwest. The outer shell displays two armadillos on the chest, while the reverse side highlights embroidered steer-heads—both staple symbols to the Southwest.
