There’s “fashion” and then there’s well-made menswear guided by the dual principles of design and function. We’re proud to report that Universal Works makes the latter. Founded in 2009 by a veteran of the apparel industry, the pieces in Universal Works collections take heavy inspiration from working-class heritage and underpin them with contemporary aesthetics. The Simple Bakers Jacket is UW’s staple jacket, remade every season in new fabric. The latest iteration uses Harris Tweed®, a hand-woven fabric that can only be made in the Outer Hebrides from wool dyed and spun in Scotland.
