The Radiomir California 3 Days is a tribute to the 1936 prototype created by Panerai to equip commandos of the Royal Italian Navy. Many of its characteristics are directly descended from the prototype: the cushion-shaped case in steel with a 47 mm diameter, the slender wire strap attachments, the conical crown and the simple dial designed for maximum legibility.
