**Straight to the officer's club**

In August 1961, Camp Irwin, an Armored Combat Training Area located in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County, California, is designated a permanent installation and renamed Fort Irwin. During the Vietnam buildup, many artillery and engineer units will train and deploy from Fort Irwin, the Army’s premier training center.

The Women’s Army Issue Low is a fully modern, but thoughtfully polished interpretation of SeaVees' archived Army Issue Sneaker – a mid-century sneaker that introduced a subtle degree of class to the casual staple. This interpretation is built with natural hemp uppers and finished with a soft grey suede toe cap. The uppers are lined in soft cotton canvas with a perforated custom contoured footbed and a traditional gum rubber outsole to provide all-day comfort.
